There are hundreds of live casino games in 2024 and some are much more straightforward than others. Some games (especially the newer ones) can be a little daunting for new players as they can tend to have some rather complex features in them.

It is for this reason why I have decided to create this TopLiveCasino’s guide dedicated to helping beginners find both a straightforward and fun live dealer casino game to play.

As the technical analyst at TopLiveCasino’s, I have played and written about pretty much every live casino game out there. Certainly it is the case that in recent years, some of the games have become a little more complicated for the layman. This isn’t a bad thing, as modern live casino games are usually excellent and are much improved compared to some of the older ones.

However, there remains a bunch of excellent games which are both fun and easy to play, this makes them perfect for new players and beginners.

Lightning Roulette

A modern version of a live dealer classic, Lightning Roulette improved the original game without making it overly complicated. Lightning Roulette improved on the original by including a Lightning Numbers round which strikes random numbers on the Roulette wheel and adds multipliers to them. This feature is the only difference between Lightning and original Roulette.

Roulette in general is straightforward and revolves around guessing which segment of the roulette wheel the ball will land on. The most common bet is to bet on black or red for a 2:1 payout, but there are plenty of bets you can make. All versions of Roulette are completely luck based, of course. Although there are several Roulette strategies, but the jury is still out on whether they actually work or not.

Nevertheless, in my opinion Lightning Roulette is an excellent choice for new players due to its ease of play and the excitement it offers.

Live Blackjack

Even people who have never gambled before know the basic premise of Blackjack – hit 21 and you win. Although Blackjack can be rather complicated if one gets into the nitty gritty of it, it is a great game for beginners because the rules are basic and it’s a lot of fun to play. If you don’t know, you play directly against the dealer in Blackjack, and the aim of the game is to try and ensure that the cards you are dealt get as close to 21 as possible.

We have written a complete guide on how to play Blackjack which will give you all of the rules as well as where you can play Live dealer Blackjack. If you take a real liking to Blackjack, then you can also study the various Live Blackjack strategies available.

In addition, Live Blackjack has one of the lowest house edges, as the RTP (return to player) is over 99% when playing Blackjack.

Monopoly live

Another very modern live casino game, Monopoly Live is much simpler than its first impressions can give. There are two main features here, the first is the gameshow-esque wheel. In order to win, you must bet on your prediction of where the wheel will stop. The live dealer will spin the wheel each time. The second element is the bonus game which is where the real excitement awaits. You can take part in the bonus game if you bet on the wheel landing on one of the bonus game segments. During the bonus, you will see a 3D computerised version of the monopoly board, and each of the properties will be given multipliers, payouts here can be huge.

Once you play a few rounds of Monopoly Live, you will quickly get the hang of how to play. There are also several Monopoly Live strategies which are worth taking the time to look at. In addition, you can play for as little as £0.10 per spin.

Live Casino Hold'em

I can recommend Live Casino Hold’em to any beginners who already have some knowledge of Poker – specifically Texas Hold’em. A very easy game to play, the difference between Casino Hold’em and Texas Hold’em is that in the casino version you play directly against the dealer rather than against other players.

Again, this is a great game for newbies as it’s very simple to play after you have played a few rounds. The main downside here is the low payouts, if you hit a royal flush you will only get a 100:1 payout, for example and the chances of hitting a Royal Flush are much slimmer than those odds suggest!

Live Baccarat

Live Baccarat is the favourite game of a certain Mr James Bond, some of the French phrases used in the game can put British players off, but they are just phrases. Baccarat is incredibly easy to play and we have summed up exactly how to play in our Live Baccarat guide which we recommend you read.

Baccarat is regularly played by high rollers too due to its high maximum bet limit and reputation, but beginners can play too as the minimum bet is £1. I recommend putting yourself through a few practice runs though before you play for real money.

My number one tip is to enjoy yourself. Live casino games are supposed to be fun to play. There are some players who play only to try to win as much money as possible, but in my opinion that is a losing strategy. Although some live casino games have a skill element to them, all of them are based on luck, so you cannot really control whether you win or lose. But if you can have fun whether you win or lose, then you can be happy.

If you have the opportunity to book yourself a winning session, then do it. The greatest advantage you have over the casino is that you can walk away whenever you want. If you feel like a session is not going your way then you can stop with minimal losses and if you have hit some good wins then you can get away from the tables whilst you are ahead and either save your winnings or buy something with them.

If you have never played a live casino game online before and you would like to, then I would recommend playing several different games so that you can get some experience and discover which you genuinely enjoy playing the most. By default, if its your first time playing a game then you probably won’t have a full understanding of the rule sets other than a basic knowledge, so I recommend betting the minimum at all times.

A final point I would like to make which will help live casino beginners, is that most online casino’s will give you bonuses when you sign up. These live casino bonuses usually come in the form of matched deposit bonuses, but there are some which will give you cashback on losses, for example.

Some bonuses are better than others, so I recommend reviewing several live casino reviews before you make a deposit. I have picked out my top two live casino bonuses for you below.
